The Farm Table Restaurant, A Unique Dining Experience!
Sleeping Child Farms and the Farm Table Restaurant are located just 10 miles south of Hamilton, Montana, in the Beautiful Bitterroot Valley. We operate The Farm Table Restaurant year round, our hours vary by season.
Much of the produce we use in the spring, summer and fall is grown right here on the farm or at our neighbors farms. We use sustainable growing methods and take care not to add any synthetic chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers to the soil. We’re not fanatics but just think the food tastes better and we like a challenge! To that end, we are constantly researching new and innovative ways to produce a wonderful bounty, while being good stewards to the land and wildlife that we share this beautiful place with. We use most of what we grow in the Restaurant and sell the rest at the Farmers Market in Hamilton.
Sleeping Child Creek runs through the property, providing plenty of irrigation (water rights from 1887…or something like that!) for our crops, and it also creates an important habitat for fish, fowl, and our four legged Whitetail friends. Side note- the dear deer finally figured out they could clear a 6 foot fence from a dead stop last year- consequently, our farming efforts were for naught in 2012 as we watched them systematically mow down just about everything we planted- needless to say- that fence is growing by about 2 feet in 2013!
Our Chef coordinates with our farmer to create Fresh, Local and Tasty dishes for our guests to enjoy. We like to describe our cuisine as Gourmet Comfort food, with menu choices appealing to all tastes.
Weather permitting, you can sit outside and enjoy all the peace and tranquility Montana offers while savoring creative meals, fine wine, and great spirits. Self-Guided Garden tours are available in the Spring and Summer time.
Keep an eye on our blog to read about events at our farm and the general shenanigans that occur in rural Montana. We are looking forward to 2013 with much anticipation as we have a new farmer joining us in April- We think he’s going to be a great addition to the farm (and if he’s not- we’ll give him a noogie- can you tell we’re related?) Also, look for the return of our Feast in the Field during August 2013.
Bring your family and friends to The Farm Table at Sleeping Child Farms for a warm welcome, great service, and a memorable meal.
